Basically, malganis did a spork of one of Meyshi's stories, starring her uberStu Teegan, the guy with the dreadlocks. Anyway, she vanity Googled her name and found the spork. She sicced her army of fans on said sporker, and then filed a DCMA on malganis claiming that her copyright had been violated. LJ told malganis she had a choice to take the spork down, or have LJ suspend her account for 14 days. This caused some outrage at Deleterius, and wholesale sporking of Meyshi's fics ensued. Meyshi slapped everyone with a DCMA for violating her copyright. The sporkers who had been told to take the sporks down filed counter-claims that you can't copyright fanfiction. John, mcpo_john117 emailed JKR's publishers and spoke with one of their lawyers today who is now Very Interested in these proceedings. Right now we're celebrating.
